How Much Water Should We Consume?

As hot weather approaches, adequate fluid intake, especially water intake, becomes a common concern for every one of us. Whether the temperatures rise or not, we should not neglect our water consumption. That being said, many of us don’t drink enough water. So, how much water should we drink? Well, with research experts have provided plenty of advice to us and your lifestyle, health condition, age, gender, amount of physical activity, and air temperature are few of the factors that determine how much water you should drink each day.

Research tells us that the recommended amount is 3 litres for men and 2.2 litres for women; however, these numbers are just so you get the picture. Ideally, you should adjust the amount you take for your specific needs. Another study claims that you can calculate how much water your body needs by multiplying your bodyweight (in kilograms) by 0.033. For example, a person weighing 60 kilograms should drink 2 litres and a person weighing 100 kilograms should drink 3.3 litres.

It is best to drink water gradually throughout the day so that the body can optimally benefit from it.

Coffee and Water

How Much Coffee Should We Consume?

A cup of coffee is a must-have for those who want to keep alert in the morning or those who want to focus better during the day and of course, for coffee lovers. We do have to keep track of our coffee consumption because the caffeine it contains might have negative effects on our body.

According to research results, the amount of caffeine consumed in a day should not exceed 400 milligrams which makes about 4 cups of coffee. Having a headache, feeling tired, tense or nervous are among the most common side effects of too much caffeine intake.

Keeping Track of Your Water and Coffee Intake

Keeping Track of Your Water and Coffee Intake

We sometimes drink too much coffee for better productivity and better focusing especially in today’s stressful and busy working conditions, not to mention neglecting our water intake and missing out on the health benefits of drinking water.

Bearing this information in mind, we, as the Outliers Notebook Team (who love to drink too much coffee as well), added 4 little coffee cup icons and 6 plastic bottle icons on each page of your notebook.

Going through your day, you can mark these mini icons and easily increase your water intake, control how much coffee you drink and keep track of your habits.
